Our Medical Assistance program acts as a safety net for Appalachian residents who are working hard to get by. After the allocation of crucial expenses, some families have nothing left over to store away in case of emergency occurrences, nor can they afford to pay for other medical expenses like the cost of eyeglasses, eye exams, medications, or dentures that insurance companies refuse to pay.
