Honoring Our Veterans

Honoring and Thanking Veterans and Active Duty Military

November 11, 2013

Veterans Day is for thanking the men and women that have served honorably in the military during times of both war and peace and we pay homage to all of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend the freedom of the United States of America. By their courage, selflessness and dedication, we are deeply humbled.

Americans Helping Americans® remembers our veterans all year long. Each month we assist over 100 active and retired military personnel to receive wholesome food and reduced cost housing thanks to the generosity of our fellow Americans.

One of the veterans in our program, Tony (name changed for privacy) is a single father to an infant that was recently stationed at Quantico Marine base. He heard of our  Homeland Military Relief program and called to inquire about the food boxes. We provided Tony not only with food for himself but with diapers, clothing and baby formula. The food box allowed us to open the door to helping a young marine and his infant son when he had nobody to help him.

Men and women recovering from physical and mental injuries while serving overseas and struggling to make ends meet back home are finding relief through donations of everyday items like diapers, clothing and shoes for themselves and family members. Each expensive necessity that we can provide is one less worry for these struggling veterans and their families; small tokens of gratitude that provide comfort and support to these selfless American soldiers.
