Feeding our Military and Veterans

March 23, 2014

Each month Americans Helping Americans provides 430 nutritious food baskets to military families and veterans.

food for veterans and militaryIt is appropriate and fitting that March is National Nutrition Month, since it is in between winter and spring. Winter holiday gatherings have past and left many of us with cherished memories and frequently unwanted weight gain!

National Nutrition Month was established in order to focus attention on the importance of making informed food choices, developing healthy eating and physical activity habits.

Well-nourished active children and teens grow, develop, and learn better. Good nutrition also helps ensure a healthy pregnancy and successful breast-feeding. Healthful eating and active living helps adults and seniors feel their best, work productively, and lower their risk for a variety of conditions.

Americans Helping Americans® is doing our part. Each month we provide 430 nutritious food baskets to military families stationed at Quantico Marine Base, Quantico Virginia and veterans at residing at three housing communities in Phoenix, Arizona.
